Operation procedures of Our DC high Voltage Generator
Release Time : 2021-01-07 View Count : 次(1) Before using the instrument, please check it carefully, make sure that the connection cable without disconnection and short circuit, the device without cracking or other damage.
(2) Put the cabinet and multi-voltage barrel to appropriate place, and respectively connected to the cables, earthing wires and power cable, the protective earthing wire, working earthing wire and the earthing wire of discharge rod should be separately connected to the earthing wire of tested object (one point grounding). It is strictly prohibited the earthing wire connecting in mutual series, therefore, only the special earthing wire of ZC540 should be used.
(3) The power switch should be turned off, while the voltage regulating potentiometer should be at zero position. The setting value of over-voltage protection should be 1.1 times of the test voltage.
(4) No-load voltage boost is to verify whether the over-voltage protection setting is sensitive or not.
(5) Turn on the power switch, then the green light is on, it means the power is connected.
(6) Press the red button, then the red light is on, indicate that high voltage is connected.
(7)Clockwise adjust the voltage regulating potentiometer gently, the output terminal start boost from zero, when rise to the required voltage, it will record the reading of ampere meter at the stipulated time, and check whether the control cabinet and high voltage output line has any abnormal phenomenon and sound.
(8)Reduce voltage. After making the voltage regulating potentiometer back to zero, then press the green button to cut off high voltage and turn off the power switch.
(9)Leakage test and DC withstand voltage test. After inspection test to confirm the instrument without abnormal condition, you can start the leakage test and DC withstand voltage test. Connect the tester to earthing wire well, and then turn on the power supply after checking there is nothing wrong.
(10)Boost to the required voltage and current. Boost speed is appropriate 35kV per second of the test voltage. When boost the tested object of large capacitance, need to monitor the charging current of the ampere meter can not exceed the maximum charging current of the instrument. When boost the tested objects with small capacitance such as zinc oxide arrester, magnetic blowout arrester and others, boost to 95% of the required voltage (power supply) at first, then boost slowly and carefully to the required voltage (current), and then read out the voltage (current) value from the digital display meter. If you need to measure zinc oxide arrester at 0.75UDC1mA, first rise to UDC~1mA voltage value, then press the yellow button, the voltage will drop to 75% of the original, and remains in this state. Then you can read the micro amp meter value. After the measurement is completed, regulate the potentiometer in counterclockwise direction to zero position and press down the green button. If you need to boost again, only need to press the red button.
If necessary, you can compare the external-connection HV divider with DC high voltage indications of the control cabinet.
(11) Reduce voltage and turn off power supply after completing the test.
(12) Several measuring methods:
a) As for general measurement, when the wire is connected well, hang the wire (connected with tested object) in the air at first, and read the corona and stray current I’ in no-load test after boosting to the test voltage. Then connected to the tested object, boost to the test voltage, and then read out total current value I1. Leakage current of tested object is : I0=I1-I’.
b) when need to accurately measure the leakage current of test products, you should to connect the high voltage micro amp meter to the side of high voltage. (as below picture)

The micro amp meter should have meter shield, and connect the shield to the test products. The shielding leads of the high voltage lead should be closely connected to the shield of the instrument. If the surface of test product is dirty, in order to exclude impact of leakage current on its surface, we can make soft bare metal cord winded the test product high potential end for several rounds, and then connect the cord to the shield of the high-voltage lead (the wiring diagram as below)

c) For the case of the earth terminal of test products (such as the zinc oxide and magnetic blowout arresters) is detachable, we can adopt the method of the bottom of the test products (earth potential side) to the ampere meter to measurement. When you need to exclude the impact of leakage current on the test product surface, you cn connect the cord t the shield of shielding line (See below wiring diagram).

(13)The test products with small capacitance such as zinc oxide arrester and others, generally are discharged quickly through pressure resistance. For the test products with high capacitance such as electric cable and others, generally waiting the voltage of the test products to discharge to below 20% of the test voltage, and then discharge through a matched discharge rod. The high voltage leads shall not be removed and the earth wires shall not be changed until test products are hung to the earth wires after discharged completely.
(14)Operation after protection action: during the process of the operation the red lamp is off, the green lamp is on and voltage drop, that means the protection action. At this moment, should turn of the switch of the power supply, the indicator lights of the panel are all not lighting. Make the pressure regulating potentiometer back to zero position, you are allowed to turn on the switch of power supply again only the low-voltage capacitance is discharged sufficiently after one minute. Remake no-load test, and after identifying the circumstances, can do boost test again.
