Operation method of ZC-540 DC High Voltage Generator

ZC-540 series DC high voltage generator is a new generation of portable DC high voltage tester designed and manufactured according to the new China power industry standard DL/t848.1-2004 general technical conditions for DC high voltage generator. It is mainly applicable to the DC voltage withstand test of zinc oxide arrester, power cable, transformer, generator and other high voltage electrical equipment by power department, industrial and mining, metallurgy, steel and other enterprise power departments.

1. Before use, the integrity of the tester should be checked, and the connecting cable shall not be open circuit and short circuit, and the equipment shall be free from damage such as rupture.


2. Place the case and the pressure cylinder at the appropriate position to connect the power line, cable and grounding wire respectively, and the protective ground wire, working ground wire and discharge rod grounding wire shall be connected to the ground wire of the test article separately (i.e. one point grounding). It is strictly forbidden to connect each ground wire in series connection. For this purpose, DHV special earth wire shall be used.


3. Put the power switch in the off position and check that the voltage regulating potentiometer should be at zero. The setting value of overvoltage protection is generally 1.1 times of the test voltage.


4. Check the no-load boost to verify whether the overvoltage protection setting is sensitive


5. Turn on the power switch, and the red light is on at this time, indicating that the power supply is on.


6. Press the green button, the green light will be on, indicating that the high voltage is on.


7. Adjust the voltage regulating potentiometer clockwise. The output end will boost voltage from zero. After rising to the required voltage, record the ammeter reading according to the specified time, and check whether there is any abnormal phenomenon and sound in the control box and high voltage output line.


8. Depressurize the voltage, return the voltage regulating potentiometer to zero, then press the red button to cut off the high voltage and turn off the power switch.


9. Leakage and DC voltage withstand test shall be conducted for the test sample. After the inspection test is carried out to confirm that the tester is free of abnormal conditions, the leakage and DC voltage withstand test of the test sample can be started. Connect the test sample and ground wire, and turn on the power supply after checking it.


10. Boost to the required voltage or current. The voltage rise speed is suitable for 3-5kV test voltage per second. When the test sample is boosted, it is necessary to monitor that the charging current of ammeter does not exceed the maximum charging current of the tester. For small capacitance test items such as zinc oxide arrester and magnetic blowing arrester, the voltage (current) required shall be increased to 95% first, and then slowly and carefully increased to the required voltage (current). Then read the voltage (current) value from the digital display meter. If the zinc oxide arrester needs to be measured at 0.75UDC-1mA, the voltage shall be raised to UDC1mA first, and then the yellow button shall be pressed, and the voltage will be reduced to 75% of the original value and kept in this state. The current can be read at this time. After the measurement is completed, the voltage regulator returns to zero counterclockwise and press the green button. Press the red button when you need to boost the pressure again.


If necessary, use external high voltage divider to compare the voltage on the control box.


11. After the test, depressurize and turn off the power supply.
